A PDF reader for Android that opens only what you choose and keeps everything on your phone. No ads, no analytics, no uploads.
Try it: tap the middle screen to hide or show the controls.
Most readers ask for access, show ads and send your habits somewhere. Quiet PDF Reader does the opposite. It reads the PDFs you pick, remembers where you stopped, and gets out of the way.
No ads, no analytics, and your documents are never uploaded.
The app has no internet permission and never asks for all-files access.
Reading positions, bookmarks and notes stay in private app storage.
Clear history anytime. Your original PDFs are never deleted.
If you choose Share, a cloud save or another app, your chosen content goes to that app or provider, which follows its own privacy terms. Read the full privacy policy.
Name a bookmark “Important formula”, or leave it blank to use the page number. Add a note to any page, and find every bookmarked PDF in one list.
Search a document's text, see matches highlighted, and browse them with the page slider. Search needs Android 15 or later, and scanned or image-only PDFs can't be searched.
Save PDF pages as PNG or JPG in a ZIP, or combine JPG and PNG images into one PDF. Conversion stays on this device, and you choose where each file is saved.
Mark up pages with drawings and notes. Drafts stay in private app storage.
Fill forms and sign on your device. Drafts stay private until you save or share.
Recognise text in scans without leaving your phone. Language models install into private storage.
Listen with the offline voices installed on your phone.
Export a copy with a new password. Your original file is unchanged, and reading passwords clear when you lock.
Group your PDFs, keep several tabs open, and return to each reading position.
Bookmark the formula, add a note to the page, and come back tomorrow to the exact spot you left.
Works offline. Tap for full screen, then long press the lock so a bump can't change the controls.
Switch to night mode and keep the screen on while you read, without squinting at a bright page.
Turn photos into a single PDF, fill and sign forms, print the whole document, or share it to any app you choose.
What to know before you install.
No. The app has no internet permission, so reading, annotations, OCR and conversion all happen on your device. If you share a file or save to a cloud provider, the app you choose handles that transfer.
It has no internet permission and doesn't request all-files access. You pick each file through Android's picker.
Android 6.0 and later. Find in PDF and Text view need Android 15 or later; scrolling and jumping to a page work everywhere.
Yes, you can read them. Converting them isn't available in this release, and on older Android versions password-opened files are supported up to 32 MB.
Search works on PDFs with selectable text, so scans can't be searched directly. For scans, the app has OCR that runs on your device, and results stay in session memory until you copy, share or save them.

Open Privacy and clear history in the app. It removes saved links, positions, bookmarks, notes and covers. Your original PDFs and exported files stay untouched.

The app uses Android file pickers and file-provider links for documents you choose. It does not request all-files access or scan your entire device. Android may retain the file access you explicitly grant until it is revoked or the app is removed.
PDF reading, conversion, annotations, form filling and OCR operate on the device. Reading history, bookmark names, notes, collections, tab positions, drawings and fill/sign drafts may be saved in private app storage. These local items are not encrypted by this app as a separate database. OCR results and corrections are held in session memory until you explicitly copy, share or save them. OCR language models are installed into private no-backup storage.
Reading passwords and protected-export password options are kept in process/session memory, not preferences or reading backups. Lock, Clear history and Activity destruction clear the relevant sessions; disabling protected editing clears its export options. Transient API String copies are subject to Android garbage collection. Protected exports use configured new passwords; original files are unchanged. Private rendering compatibility files for older Android versions are unlinked after opening and stale pre-unlink residues are cleaned on a later compatibility load. Temporary rendering/PDFBox scratch files and drawing drafts may exist in private app storage during processing.
The app has no INTERNET permission and no developer-operated document upload, analytics, advertising or account service. If you choose Share, a destination provider, a cloud backup/save, a dictionary/translation app or Android text processing, your chosen content is passed to that selected app/provider. Such providers may upload it or apply their own privacy policies. The user initiates those actions. Read aloud offers only installed voices marked offline by the configured Android speech engine; that separate system service is outside this app's control.
Manual reading backups contain reading data such as bookmarks, notes, drawings, collections, positions and fill/sign drafts. They exclude document files, passwords and OCR results. The app disables Android automatic app backup. Clear history removes supported saved reading records, annotations and fill/sign drafts. It does not delete source documents or files you exported or saved with another provider. Clearing Android app storage or uninstalling removes remaining private app data and models; copies in other locations remain until you delete them there.
The app does not create accounts, serve ads, collect advertising identifiers or include developer analytics. It is a general document utility, not a service for uploading children's documents.
You may stop recognition, lock password sessions, clear local history/data, revoke file-provider access using Android controls where available, and delete exported copies with their file provider. To ask about this policy, contact hello@rakibulhashanrabbi.com.
The publisher will update this policy when the app's data practices change.
